Event Description:

Come hear  Syrian writer Riad Ismat speak about his experiences during Arab Spring and life in the United States.

Riad is a Syrian playwrite, director, and short story and screen-play writer. He served as Syria's ambassador to Pakistan and Qatar, and also as Syria's Minister of Culture until he requested retirement in mid-2012 in the face of erupting violence in Syria.

He currently resides in the United States, and recently published the book, Artists, Writers and The Arab Spring (2018).

Talk begins at 7:00 p.m.

Fr. John Kartje (Ph.D., Astrophysics), Rector/President of University of Saint Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary, will celebrate the Mass and speak afterwards on “The Mystery of Faith: From the Gold Mass to Gravity Waves.”
