Welcome to the Department of Nursing and Health at Benedicine
University. The health care environment is changing radically
and rapidly. Managed care, the shift to community based
care and demand for evidence based practice - each presents
a challenge to the experienced RN...and an opportunity.
The B.S.N. from Benedictine University will provide you
with the skills necessary to adapt to an environment where
the only certainty is change. Since all of our students are working professionals, our
curriculum is organized to build on and enhance those skills
you already possess.
Our RN to BSN Completion Program is:
Convenient
- Classes are held on the College of DuPage campus in
Glen Ellyn and the Triton College campus in River Grove.
- This evening and weekend program is specifically designed
for the working R.N. who, like yourself, is juggling multiple
life priorities
- Using an accelerated format and adult learning principles,
you can complete a B.S.N. degree in one calendar year
Affordable
- Benedictine University provides a private education
at a tuition competitive with state schools. There are
ten major courses (31 credits) and two cultural heritage
courses (6 credits) that will be completed in modular
format over one calendar year, beginning in June, August
or January.
Personal
- Builds on your previous knowledge where you can bring valuable
real-life experience into the educational process and earn credit
for your prior learning, including accepting up to 65 hours
of community college transfer credit
Flexible
- There is no time limit required on science courses
- Earn concurrent credit toward a Master of Public Health or
a Master of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior
degree while completing your B.S.N. if you wish to pursue an
advanced degree at Benedictine University
Professional
- Emphasizes critical thinking, autonomy and empowerment
- Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(CCNE)
