Lambda Upsilon-at-Large Chapter

The Sigma Theta Tau International Lambda Upsilon-at-Large Chapter is a combined chapter from Benedictine University and Aurora University.



Congratulations to the Lambda Upsilon-at-Large Chapter for their 2009 Chapter Key Award. This award highlights chapter success from July 2007 - July 2009 in the categories of Leadership, Knowledge, Service, Community and Sustainability.

The Purposes of the Society are:
  • Recognize superior achievement
  • Recognize the development of leadership qualities
  • Foster high professional standards
  • Encourage creative work
  • Strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession

Registered Nurse Students must:
  • have completed 12 credit hours at current school;
  • have completed ½ of the nursing curriculum;
  • achieve academic excellence (at schools where a 4.0 grade point average system is used, this equates to a 3.0 or higher);
  • rank in the upper 35 percentile of graduating class;
  • meet the expectation of academic integrity.
Graduate Students (Master's and Doctorate) must:
  • have completed ¼ of the nursing curriculum;
  • achieve academic excellence (at schools where a 4.0 grade point average system is used, this equates to a 3.5 or higher);
  • meet the expectation of academic integrity.
Nurse Leader Candidates must:
  • be legally recognized to practice nursing in his/her country;
  • have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field;
  • demonstrate achievement in nursing.
The committee meets in early August and eligible students will be invited to join. All invitations will come via email to student BU email accounts.
