Professional Biography:
A graduate of the undergraduate Nutrition Program at Benedictine University, Cindy Baranoski also earned her Master of Science in Nutrition from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL. Her professional interests lie in the area of Pediatrics, with an emphasis on special needs. Ongoing extensive training in pediatric special needs nutrition has assisted her in developing and implementing a variety of innovative programs at Easter Seals DuPage, Rosalie Dold Center for Children in Villa Park, including internship sites for both Benedictine and Northern Illinois University and co-establishing the Feeding Clinic at Easter Seals DuPage, a collaboration with Loyola University Medical Center. Cindy is currently the only dietitian in the nation working in a therapeutic capacity for Easter Seals.
Cindy’s research, publications and professional presentations are many, focusing on pediatric special needs. She has spoken on numerous occasions from local to national level, including the international support group MAGIC Foundation’s Annual National Convention. Her list of publications is vast and includes professional and medical newsletters and journals such as DuPage in Brief, ADVANCE for the Administrators of the Laboratory, Cerebral Palsy Magazine, Stroke Smart, and the Journal of the American Dietetic Association. Most recently Cindy contributed a chapter on nutrition for children with growth disorders for the MAGIC Foundation’s parent and professional guidebook.
Cindy has received numerous awards and recognitions during her years in school and as a professional. She is very active at both the local and state level of the American Dietetic Association. For more information, view her vita.
