The Healthy Table offers health screening and nutrition presentations to all members of the community. Individualized nutrition counseling and nutrition education services are available to seniors age 60 and older and persons receiving Medicaid and Medicare in DuPage County, Illinois. Additionally, long-term care facilities, Congregate Meal Sites for seniors, and organizations in DuPage County are encouraged to call to request a speaker on a nutrition-related topic. All services of The Healthy Table are provided by the Benedictine University Dietetic Interns, experienced in medical nutrition therapy and near completion of their Master of Public Health degree at Benedictine University.

Persons requiring nutrition services not available through The Healthy Table are strongly encouraged to visit The American Dietetic Association web site for an on-line referral from the Nationwide Nutrition Network to help you find a Nutrition Professional near you.

Hours of Operation: Varies monthly. Call Healthy Table to find out the current schedule. Please note that we are closed over Christmas break and some summer months.

Services provided by The Healthy Table include:

  Comprehensive individualized nutrition counseling for Diabetes, High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, Weight Management, Allergies, and Anemia is available. Counseling is available by appointment only, in the Birck Hall of Science, room 230, at Benedictine University. We also recommend that you schedule follow-up sessions.
  Healthy Table dietetic interns are available to present to your group or organization in DuPage County. Topics include: Using the Food Guide Pyramid, Food Safety, Reading Food Labels, Women's Health, Phytochemicals and Disease Prevention, Osteoporosis, Eating Healthy When Eating Out, and "Five-A-Day". Specific topics may also be requested based on group needs. To schedule a presentation, please call (630) 829-6518. We would love to share nutrition information with you!
  Healthy Table dietetic interns can provide and staff a display at your Health or Career Fair. To schedule a fair event, please call (630) 829-6518.
  Health Screening is available. Appointments are required. Call the Healthy Table weekdays at (630) 829-6518 for the appointment schedule.
