Nutrition Club:
Description of Offices


President

  Chair the Club Board of Directors. Preside at and facilitate all meetings.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
See that all recommendations made by members of the board are considered when decision making.
Promote and execute activities. For example, the club bake sale.
Work with the National Nutrition Month Chairperson to plan and execute events.
Prepare the Calendar of Events for printing, and assure that it is available to all participants of the club and the community.
Develop goals for the club with advisor and the officers.
Appoint and establish any necessary committees.
Accept written nominations for elections of the incoming board.
Be assertive, delegate responsibilities as needed, organized, responsible, dedicated, and willing to participate in the needs of the Benedictine University campus and community.

Vice-President

  Serve on the Club Board of Directors.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
Work with the Public Relations Chairperson to advertise meetings via Flyers, Candor, Campus Notebook and the Electronic Message Board in Krasa.
Work with the Campus Ministry to plan and execute community service events. For example, Thanksgiving Food Drive.
Be assertive, organized and responsible. To fill in when the president is not available, and to assist the president in any way necessary.

Recording Secretary

  Serve on the Club Board of Directors.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
Communicate minutes at each meeting.
Record and type minutes for each of the club meetings.
Post copies of the minutes on the Nutrition Club bulletin board. Also, turn in a copy of the minutes to the Student Government Secretary as required each month.
Reserve meeting rooms. Maintain the file of room reservations and a copy of the flyer advertising the meetings.
Maintain the original version of the blank ADA scholarship application.
Maintain the original version of the Club Calendar of Events.
Maintain the original version of the Club Bylaws.
Maintain printed packets of the above 3 items for distribution to active Club members.
In the absence of either Secretary, all duties will be performed by the present Secretary.
Be organized, responsible and possess some typing/computer skills.

Membership Secretary

  Serve on the Club Board of Directors.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
With the assistance of the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Director and/or the Faculty Club Advisor, and the other members of the Board, create and mail a "membership drive" letter to all Nutrition majors by the beginning of August.
Create and mail an update of up coming semester activities list in December or January.
Type the Membership Directory and hand it out to club members with in the month of October. Maintain the original version.
Maintain printed packets of the Membership Directory for the distribution to active club members at all times.
Document and maintain attendance records.
In the absence of either Secretary, all duties will be performed by the present Secretary.
Be organized, responsible and possess computer/typing skills.

Treasurer

  Serve on the Club Board of Directors.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
Work with the Nutrition Program Director and Nutrition Club Officers to assist in planning the Nutrition Program Awards Banquet.
Establish a checking account with dual signatures (Treasurer and President) or keep the club money in a safe place.
Deposit and withdraw funds as needed.
Keep a record of all receipts and expenditures. Maintain an accurate balance on the account. Make a report of the present finances at each meeting.
Submit budget and fund requests with the SGA.
Be organized, responsible, and possess some basic math skills.

Historian

  Serve on the Club Board of Directors.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
Photograph all club events. Club meetings can be photographed when a special activity or speaker is involved.
Assemble a pictorial history of events, utilizing a copy of the event flyer and the photographs.
Clip Candor and Campus Notebook articles making reference to the club or articles written by a member for the Club Scrapbook.
Submit event request forms to the SGA.
Maintain a complete record of all club functions.
Be organized, creative and responsible.

Public Relations Chairperson

  Serve on the Club Board of Directors.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
Work with the Vice-President to advertise all meetings.
Create flyers and posters. Get all advertisements approved prior to printing.
Bring and pickup all advertisements at the Benedictine University print room and post them well in advance in all buildings on campus.
Give a copy of all the flyers advertising events/meetings to all officers. Post one copy in the club advisors office.
Appoint sub-committees when necessary.
Be creative, organized, responsible and willing to be on campus as needed to post flyers/posters in a timely manner.

Student Government Association (SGA) Liaison

  Serve on the Club Board of Directors.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
Attend all SGA meetings.
Report Nutrition Club activities to the SGA at meetings.
Report SGA Club activities to the Nutrition Club at meetings.
Be organized and responsible. Represent the Nutrition Club in an appropriate professional manner.

National Nutrition Month Chairperson

  Serve on the Club Board of Directors.
Serve on the Benedictine University Nutrition Program Student Advisory Board.
Work with the Club Advisor, Club President and West Suburban Dietetic Association Chairperson to plan, coordinate, execute and evaluate at least one on-campus activity for National Nutrition Month. For example, odd-year spring, the Community Nutrition Fair; and activities alternating springs may vary.
Be organized, responsible and creative and plan activities well in advance.
