Ph.D. OD program Cohort 8 will begin
Spring 2010
The College of Business Ph.D. in Organization Development Program is a 3-year program requiring 96 credit hours.
First two years include very interactive classroom study courses. The third year work focuses on dissertation completion and presenting at an International Conference. It is expected that students complete their work within the 3 years.
Classes meet for 16 on-campus weekends during a calendar year – one a month. A weekend includes Friday evening and Saturday/Sunday sessions for a total of 15 classroom hours per weekend.
Each cohort of students (usually 20 to 25) is working together for the entire 3-year program period. Because the program is so interactive, it is difficult to work with a very large group. The classes are not simply lectures. The visiting scholars and PhD faculty provide very interactive class sessions. Distinguished Visiting Scholars from all parts of the world are invited to participate in our class seminars. The PhD faculty are also working with individual students throughout the dissertation process.
There is also a required international component in the 3rd year of the program. Students are required to travel to, and make a presentation at an International OD Conference. Expectation of students will be to prepare submissions to present at various academic conferences during the program.
This program is designed for organization development professionals who perceive the management of change and the creation of high-performance organizations as a central part of their career.
Selection criteria include:
- Quality and quantity of relevant work;
