AABA Admissions Requirements

Benedictine University admits qualified working adult students who demonstrate the potential to maintain satisfactory academic standing. The typical applicant is at least 22 years of age with at least two years of significant work experience and little or no previous college credit. Specific admission conditions are as follows:

  • Proof high school graduation or GED certificate

  • Minimum age of 22 years

  • A minimum of two significant years work experience in business, industry, public service, the military, or other related employment

  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00 on prior college coursework

  • For applicants whose native language is not English, evidence of English proficiency through successful completion of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 550 on the written exam, or 213 on the computer based test, or other proficiency exams as identified by Benedictine University is required.

Applicants who do not meet the stated admission requirements for full admission may be considered for probationary admission. Students admitted on probation will be fully admitted upon the successful completion of the first three courses with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.00.

To be considered for admission, the application file must be complete, including a request for official transcripts. In the event that the file is not complete prior to the start of the first class, the student may be registered as a student-at-large and granted provisional admission pending receipt official transcripts. To continue in the cohort, the student is required to complete their application file prior to the final meeting of the first course. [Note: students-at-large are not eligible for financial assistance.]
