The mission of the Benedictine M.B.A. Programs is to provide business
professionals with a collaborative educational experience that imparts
superior, practical knowledge and management skills; enables learners
to analyze complex, real-world business problems and implement best practices,
and instills a sense of personal commitment to improve the responsible,
strategic leadership of organizations.
The traditional M.B.A. Program is an individually-paced, evening and
weekend M.B.A. program that is designed to provide maximum flexibility
in curriculum and scheduling for busy people with an interest in management
roles. The beautiful, accessible, and growing 116-year old Benedictine
campus in Lisle, Illinois provides the setting for all traditional M.B.A.
classes.
The WebFlex M.B.A. Program is specifically designed to accommodate
frequent demands and travel during the workweek. The convenience of online
learning combined with traditional style teaching, the WebFlex
M.B.A. provides students with the flexibility to fit classes in according
to their schedules without occupying every weekend.
The Internship M.B.A, the Executive M.B.A. and the Accelerated Cohort
M.B.A. offer additional flexibility and format options.
Benedictine M.B.A. Program instructors are seasoned full-time and adjunct
faculty members who are carefully selected for their experience in, and
commitment to, the education of motivated adult learners. All instructors
have earned their master or doctorate degrees or both and possess expertise
in their specific disciplines within the scope of the M.B.A. Program curriculum.
Internship, Executive, Accelerated Cohort
The M.B.A. curriculum addresses the needs of business professionals
by providing a comprehensive exposure to all the elements essential for
running their organizations well. The curriculum consists of 16 courses
of which 12 are required and four are elective.
The undergraduate business department has demonstrated the ability to
fulfill our Benedictine University mission statement at the departmental
level. Our students graduate with a foundation grounded in a liberal arts
education which allows them to think deeply, clearly and thoroughly through
any of the problems that they may encounter; moreover, the department
provides students with the skills and competencies essential to gain employment
in business related careers. The business faculty hope to enable business
graduates to aspire toward leadership positions while at the same time
maintain a sense of ethical decision making coupled to a sense of justice.
The program and courses in the International Business and Economics Department
are designed to offer the principles pertinent to all of the functional
areas of business, accounting, finance, management and marketing, in an
integrated manner and with an emphasis on the international aspects that
affect these areas. There is also advanced coverage of microeconomics,
plus extensive coverage of money and financial markets, and international
economics. The program enables you to pursue graduate studies in business,
economics, or law, or career opportunities in business or the pubic sector.
Students will receive a thorough grounding in the study and appreciation
of international cultural backgrounds and in the skills needed for international
business.
The department offers B.B.A. degrees in Accounting, Finance, Health
Administration, Management and Organizational Behavior, and Marketing.
There is a B.A. degree available in Business and Economics and a B.A.M.
degree available in Management.
The Business Club and Undergraduate Business Department are again sponsoring
the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
Program. Through the VITA program, business students can volunteer to
participate in weekend tax assistance sessions.
The Master of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior (MOB)
Program at Benedictine University is recognized both locally and nationally
as a leader in providing education toward managing the human side of organizations.
Competence in the "human side of enterprise," including global interdependence,
workforce diversity, and the management of change, has become the hallmark
of excellent managers and leading-edge companies.
The management and organizational behavior program blends a practitioner
orientation with a combined academic, theoretical and research focus to
provide a relevant and balanced approach to managerial skill development.
The curriculum provides students with a solid foundation in the traditional
areas of management skills such as strategic planning, managerial accounting
and information management. Most of all, we foster collaborative faculty/student
relationships aimed at achieving a common goal: learning to create and
sustain excellence in management.
The program is designed around the fact that many students are working
professionals and therefore classes are scheduled in the evening and on
weekends to accommodate their needs. Eighty-five percent of the degree
can be completed through weekend course work. Most students complete their
degree in two to four years of part-time enrollment.
The Ph.D. program in Organization Development is committed to preparing
management professionals with state-of-the-art education in the field.
The program is dedicated to promote a better understanding of the work
of the OD professional within the context of global trends and emerging
problems.
Coursework is designed for organization development professionals who
perceive the management of change and the creation of high-performance
organizations as a central part of their career. It is designed as a full-time
program (approximately eight credit hours per quarter) to be integrated
with and complementary to full-time work activities.
Built on a 30-year history of successful graduate-level OD education,
this program is intended for persons with extensive experience and currently
holding responsible positions either in organization development, management,
or in a closely allied field such as human resource management.
