Shaping a new generation of public leaders and responsible citizens

Civic Leadership Conference
The Civic Leadership Conference is an annual event that features a Youth Government Day for area high school students and a prominent keynote speaker from the fields of government, law and politics.
Youth Government Day
Each year, the Center invites high school and community college students to Benedictine University to a program devoted to the importance of government and public service. These students take part in simulations and debates, and joined by officials from various levels of government.
Among the figures in the fields of politics and government who have given presentations were State’s Attorney Joseph Birkett, State Senator John Millner (R-Bloomingdale) and Representative James Meyer
(N-Naperville).
Keynote Speakers
Each year, the Center invites prominent public figures to speak about the importance of active citizenship and public service.
Past speakers have included David Broder, Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist with the Washington Post, and Evan Thomas, author and assistant managing editor of Newsweek magazine.
