What does a degree in psychology at Benedictine offer?
In our bachelor of arts in psychology program, you will study the behavior of individuals, groups, society and
organizations. You will learn both the theories of psychologists and how the theories are applied in real situations.

How does the program work?
As a psychology major, you will complete at least 41 credit-hours in psychology courses with a grade of “C” or
better. You will learn principles of psychology, statistics, research methods in the social sciences and how to do a
senior thesis in the program’s capstone course. You will also choose from among advanced psychology courses
according to your interests and advisor’s advice, including at least eight credit-hours of laboratory courses. You
will take courses to increase your knowledge of related social sciences: sociology, economics and political
science/anthropology.
For whom is the psychology area?
Psychology is for you if you are interested in a career that deals with people on a one-to-one basis or in a group
and that uses statistics and other research skills. You will learn what motivates people and the skills needed to
