...the program's crown jewel.
The Interdisciplinary Research Project (IRP) culminates in a 20-30-page work of original research. Crafted in consultation with two faculty mentors over five semesters, the paper defends a coherent and interesting thesis using sources and methods from two distinct academic disciplines (e.g., Biology and Philosophy, Literature and Psychology, Chemistry and Political Science, etc.).
Students prepare the IRP in stages; the project has six distinct components. The links below provide information and guidelines concerning each of these components. The first link explains how progress on these components is evaluated, and why these evaluations matter. The second link provides a list of due dates. The remaining links outline expectations and define procedures for each of the six IRP components.
