Benedictine University and Triton College have announced a partnership that will allow graduates of Triton College’s Associate Degree Nursing Program to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Benedictine University at Triton’s River Grove campus.

The Benedictine University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) is an accelerated, one-year program that provides students will the skills and knowledge necessary to undertake leadership positions and to further their education at the graduate level.

“The program emphasizes critical thinking, focuses on giving the student the knowledge and the tools to make sound decisions, and helps students develop the self-confidence to take their careers to the next level,” said Ethel C. Ragland, Ed.D., professor and chair of the Department of Nursing and Health at Benedictine University.

Classes are offered in an evening and weekend format and will be held at Triton College’s University Center beginning in August 2007. The program offers a private education at a tuition competitive with state schools.

“By partnering with Triton College, we are able to provide a private college education at public college prices,” said William J. Carroll, Ph.D. president of Benedictine University.

This is the second such partnership for Benedictine University, which announced an agreement in January with College of DuPage to offer the B.S.N. program on its Glen Ellyn campus.

For more information about the B.S.N. program offered by Benedictine University, call (630) 829-6583 or e-mail eragland@ben.edu.
