Project Management - Richard Dobson
Richard Dobson, PMP, is a certified project management professional with diverse technical and management experience in all areas of Business Systems Development. In past projects, he focused on delivering high quality systems using repeatable processes.
He has an open management style and believe in sharing knowledge and mentoring teams throughout the projects. Recent accomplishments includes defining, establishing, and managing Project Management Offices for a major insurance company and a major retail grocery chain, conducting IT audits for a major pharmaceutical company, and creating formal processes for configuration and change management for Direct Marketing Division. He is currently involved in setting best practices for the project management staff at a large Direct Marketing organization.
In addition to His project management experiences, Dick has taught at the Community College Level for over 20 years.
Project Experience
Large Pharmaceutical Company (Abbott Labs) – Prepared an internal development group for an internal audit of their development processes including conformance to Sarbanes Oxley. This effort included establishing processes where they were missing and training the staff and management in using the new procedures. The group passed the audit with no major findings and the new procedures were used as samples for other divisions.
Large Grocery Retailer – Established a Project Management Office to help control over 150 existing internal projects. Established the governance procedures for over 35 Project Managers and over 300 developers.
Major Insurance Company – Established a Project Management office for their Enterprise Resource Management group. There were up to 20 concurrent project that required governance and oversite. Group had full responsibility for monitoring and control of the entire Allstate network.
Major Recording Company – Led successful project to implement a Lawson ERP package. Project was finished on time and within budget with limited staff (5 full time staff).
Major Software Distributor – Established the Midwest Consulting region for Software Configuration Management Software implementation efforts. Led and trained over 20 consultants.
Major Health Care Provider – As QA manager and Project Manager, defined software development procedures for both mainframe and client server implementation efforts. Implemented both PVCS, Changeman, and defined processes for use of the Project Management software.
Quality Management - Thomas Gehrke
Thomas Gehrke has been in the quality field for over 25 years and has held the positions of Inspector, Technician, Engineer, Manager, and Director of Quality and a Consultant in industries as varied as Automotive, Electronics/Avionics, Construction, Chemical and Pharmaceutical.
He is a past RAB accredited Lead Auditor for ISO9000, and has been a Certified Quality Auditor since 1989. During that time, he has taught internal auditing and external auditing for various companies, and for the local section of ASQ.
Much of his time as a consultant has involved process mapping and auditing companies to research how their current business practices were or were not ISO compliant, and helping them register to the ISO standard with as little change to their current business practices as possible.
Tom is also a Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Reliability Engineer, and a 6 Sigma Black Belt.
Quality Auditor - Willie L. Carter, M.B.A.
Willie Carter is the Principal of his own independent consulting firm and an IRCA Certified Lead Assessor (since 1994) as well as an ASQ certified Quality Manager. He has over 30 years experience in quality and operations.
Besides handling consulting and training engagements in internal auditing, team building, problem solving tools and ISO 9000 implementation he is an adjunct faculty member at Roosevelt University where he teaches courses in Statistics, Operations Management, Project Management and various quality topics.
Willie has developed his own training courses in internal auditing, problem solving, team building and process management. His training and teaching experience includes preparing syllabi and delivering course content for adult audiences through lectures and application exercises. He isam thoroughly familiar with all aspects of class responsibilities and the requirements of ASQ certification.
