This is a 10 week experience that carries a $3,000.00 stipend. In order to provide research opportunities for as many students as possible, housing will be provided on an as needed basis. For general questions regarding the program, stipends, housing, etc.

What we need from you to apply:
- Summer research is open to all current, undergraduate
students with a graduation date no earlier than December
of the following school year (e.g. Summer Research in
summer 2009 - Graduation in December 2009 or later).
Student applications will be reviewed and candidates
chosen based on their qualifications and the needs of
participating faculty. Not all students who apply for
summer research will be chosen.
- On-line application completed and submitted (link
above). Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- If you are approved for housing you MUST COMPLETE A SEPARATE HOUSING REQUEST. If you are selected to do research and have been approved for housing based on the housing need justification submitted with your application, you will be emailed all of the housing information and instructions. The housing form will be due back by your acceptance date of APRIL 7th. You must apply for housing
through the summer research program in BK 348 or your
housing will not be paid for through the program. Contact

with any questions regarding the application process.
Student Research Responsibilities:
- You must put in 10 weeks of full-time laboratory work during the summer months. If you plan to take a second job you must obtain permission from your faculty mentor. Failure to disclose this information will result in loss of the summer research job.
- You must submit a written, journal style, report of
your work to your mentor. The report should be handed
in (preferably) at the end of the summer appointment,
before school begins. However, if you plan to work during
the following year for your mentor, the report may be
handed in at the end of the fall term. A copy of this
report will be given to the dean of the College of Science.
- You must attend the science division open house in November.
- A poster of your summer work must be prepared and presented for visitors to view at the College of Science Open House during the fall semester.
- You will be required to present at least one public
talk on campus describing your work, this would be done
during the following school year.
- You are expected to present your work at a meeting or conference. The venue may be a professional meeting or conference or it may be a student symposium. The presentation usually takes the form of a 15 minute talk or a poster session.
