Enrollment and Degree Verifications

Benedictine University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide self-service enrollment verification certificates and degree verifications. The National Student Clearinghouse follows all federal privacy laws.

Self-Service Enrollment Verification Certificates

All currently enrolled students may obtain a free, printed Enrollment Verification Certificate by following the steps below:

  • Click on the Verify Your Enrollment Status link
  • Provide the National Student Clearinghouse with your name and birth date
  • Select option to print your own Enrollment Verification Certificate, view information on file, view loan deferment notifications that have been sent, or see proofs of enrollment that have been provided to other providers.

This self-printed Enrollment Verification Certificate is considered to be official and can be presented to your employer, health insurance agencies, insurance agencies, housing authorities, consumer product companies, financial institutions (banks) etc. when you are required to provide official evidence of enrollment at Benedictine University.

Information regarding student enrollment is submitted to the National Student Clearinghouse electronically each term. The first verification for the term takes place approximately 3 weeks after the term begins. Graduation data is updated approximately 4 weeks after each graduation date.

Obtaining a Clearinghouse Degree Verify Certificate

Benedictine University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree verifications.

Follow these steps:

  • Go to NSC Verification Services
  • Click on Verify Now and select Degree or School Certificate
  • Enter the name of school, degree received, level, major, year and your personal information
  • Click Submit
  • Enter payment information

Most Verification Service requests are confirmed instantly as a PDF. When enrollment is not verified it is due to one of the following reasons:

  • Record requested may predate Benedictine University’s electronic records therefore more time is required to research the record
  • Incorrect information was entered when the request was submitted
  • Student has a privacy block on the record
  • Benedictine University has placed a HOLD on the record
  • Benedictine University did not send the record to the NSC

These requests will be sent to Benedictine University for verification on the next business day and the National Student Clearinghouse will send you a notification when the PDF is available for download.
