All full-time degree seeking students of Benedictine University are eligible to be members of AMSA. This includes traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, all active members may vote and are eligible to run for all offices of the Executive Board except for the position of president, who must have served as a board member during the current or any prior terms. Local members may apply to become a member of the national organization of the pre-medical branch of the American Medical Student Association. Students may apply for up to four years of membership. Though national membership is not required to join the organization, it is highly recommended and strongly encouraged. Members may receive points upon documentation of national membership. National membership does cost money, with an increasing amount for each additional year wanted. Points for this choice are determined by the Executive Board. Please visit us at the AMSA booth at Quad Day that will be held in the Krasa Quad on September 6, 2006. We will have a laptop set up so you can enter in your name and information which will get you on our mailing list. We'll be sending out important news and updates frequently concerning upcoming events and pre-medical related news in general so don't forget! Many people have the false belief that there is a certain point when it's "too late to join" AMSA. THIS IS NOT TRUE! No matter what point in the year it is, whether it's halfway through fall semester or the very end of the year, whether you're a junior, or even a senior for that matter, just be aware that you are always welcome to participate in our organization! Even if you aren't a pre-med student, but one of our events piques your interest, feel free to stop by and see what we have to offer! If you have any other membership-related questions, shoot us an e-mail. © copyright 2006 Benedictine University : All Rights Reserved |
