President's Welcome

Welcome to Benedictine University's Pre-Medical AMSA website!

Our mission statement is as follows:

The American Medical Student Association is committed to improving health care and healthcare delivery to all people; promoting active improvement in medical education; involving its members in the social, moral and ethical obligations of the profession of medicine; assisting in the improvement and understanding of world health problems; contributing to the welfare of medical students, interns, residents and post-MD/DO trainees; and advancing the profession of medicine.

As the most popular student-driven organization at Benedictine University, AMSA provides students with help to achieve their goals of attending various professional schools. Whether it is medical school, a school of osteopathic medicine, dental school, optometry school, physical therapy school, or others, AMSA provides students with opportunities to engage in the community through volunteering. We also provide free practice MCATs, CPR certification classes, and informational workshops on the application and interviewing process for these professional schools. In addition, we attempt to increase the awareness of our members on the subject of health related issues by attending the national AMSA regional conferences and national conventions each year. Most importantly, we give back to the community by raising money for a local health clinic by hosting the annual 5K run/walk. AMSA hopes that we can offer assistance and insight on the present and future challenges faced by all pre-professional students, and we sincerely hope that you will enjoy being a member of our organization!

Best Wishes,

Afreen Mohiuddin
Pre-Med AMSA President
