Pearson Reading editors utilize their educational background and curriculum knowledge in combination with on-the-job training in editorial processes, project management, and instructional materials development to produce high quality basal products for the Reading discipline at the primary and intermediate grades

Associate Editor - Executes assignments that meet the high quality standards for the project. Works with senior managers to learn parameters and follows established procedures and company policies. Matches state objectives to relevant content core program and applies knowledge of state objectives and testing blueprints to the evaluation of the work of development houses. Meets deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Editor - Assists in all phases of a project with primary emphasis on writing and editing manuscripts and ensuring content accuracy. With supervision, coordinates with Design, Production, and other departments from manuscript stage to bound book. Senior Editor - Develops a major component or a major portion of a component within a single title program or series. Develops prototypes and program content for the portion of the component or complete component with limited supervision. Writes and edits manuscript, prepares art and photo specs, reviews design layouts, reviews pages, and cuts copy to fit. Enlists and manages freelancers and authors as necessary. Ensures that the component or portion of the component is completed on time, on budget, in alignment with original product vision, and meets high standards of quality. Ensures that product responds to customer needs.

Supervisor- Manages the planning and development of a major component within a single-title program or series. With the Product Managers, works to shape and finalize individual product plans for the title under his or her oversight. Develops prototypes and product specifications and participates in budgeting process. Develops and presents competitive component plans. Manages one or two staff editors and/ or a small team of freelancers throughout the development process. Ensures the component is completed on time, on budget, in alignment with original product vision and meets high standards of quality.

Experience: Graduate or undergraduate degree required, with a focus on Reading subject area strongly preferred. Knowledge of education methodologies and instructional design required. Must be proficient user of computers and software programs, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point. Teaching experience at elementary and/or in the Reading subject areas strongly preferred.

Senior Editor requires a minimum of 4 years project management experience and staff management experience, plus 4 years of experience with instructional materials development or in an editorial capacity within educational publishing. Bilingual elementary teaching experience and/or teaching experience in the ESL/ELL subject areas preferred at all levels. All editors must be proficient users of computers and software programs, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.

The Designer works closely with the Design Manager and spearheads the design development of books and other major program components. Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated Web developer to program and integrate New Media and interactive technologies into the current USATF Web Site and provide back end program support to the database-driven portions of the site. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, enthusiastic and open to multiple viewpoints and ill creatively apply technologies to USATF's web site to further our direct outreach with fans an customers. Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance clear and concise navigation of USATF.org. Be responsible for creating a search engine for the site and developing a vehicle for the consistent presence of video clips, podcasts, online polling and other interactive elements. Maintain database driven portions of the site, modifying as needed and identifying the needs of USATF departments in the area. Oversee Internet Publishing Coordinator who has primary responsibility for posting content, coordinating online event coverage and reformatting content submissions to ensure compatibility with www.usatf.org. Ensure that the site complies with all relevant standards and laws, including primary laws. Ensure security of the site, including e-commerce. In conjunction with Internet Publishing Coordinator, provide training and support as needed, for other departments on the use of existing or developing content management system. Assist webmasters of local USATF associations with questions about maintaining their websites.
Qualifications:
Experience and demonstrated proficiency in hand-coding HTML, CSS, JavaScript as well as using various Microsoft Web and Office applications. Experience and demonstrated skill with VBScript and ASP.NET applications in C#, including applications that assess database and XML data stores. Possess working knowledge of Fireworks, Illustrator, Flash, Acrobat, FTP. Demonstrated ability to create and mange databases, including Microsoft SQL Server. Self-motivated, with the ability to work with limited supervision. Demonstrated strong communications skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to work with various departments, integrating their needs.
Salary: Upper 30's mid 40's commensurate with experience.
