At least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age as of November 2, 2009, unless the individual falls under
one of the exceptions to the statutory maximum hiring age detailed in 70 ILCS 705/16.06 or 65 ILCS 2/10-
2.1-6. Proof of date of birth is required;
• No Felony or disqualifying Misdemeanor Convictions;
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED);
• A U.S. citizen at time of filing formal application or must meet requirements of Illinois Human Rights Act
for citizenship status;
• Valid Driver’s License;
• Current Illinois or National Registry EMT-P (Paramedic) Certification;
• Successful completion of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) conducted by a licensed agency within
12 months PRIOR to November 2, 2009 (CPAT cards considered valid ONLY if dated between 11/2/08 and 11/2/09.
NO EXCEPTIONS.)

Salary: Beginning June 1, 2009 is $42,859.48 with an additional $1,500 per year stipend when
certified to work as a paramedic in the Loyola Medical System for an annualized salary of $44,359.48. The
Shifts run on a 24 hour on, 48 hour off schedule. Payroll is biweekly. Payment is for 112 hours each payroll
period (for employees working all required shift time or with paid time off). A Kelly Day (24 hour paid time
off) is earned each 28 day period. In addition employees accrue paid time off in the form of sick and
vacation days. Benefits available include Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, HMO or H.S.A. plans, Delta Dental PPO
and VSP Vision, Pension Fund, Life Insurance, Post Employment Health Plan and 457 Deferred Compensation
Plan.
