Case Manager, Caseworker
Responsibilities:
The Youth and Residential Services division of Heartland Alliance currently has openings for Case Workers and Case Managers to regularly work on the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Each job is based at one of our multiple residential sites, where we provide housing and case management services to young boys and girls, ages infant through 17. The backgrounds of our young clients are varied and include youth who have been detained by the DHS. We are proud to provide them with a structured, safe and friendly environment as we work to help reunite them with family, or otherwise move on to their next step. Our residential sites are located in Des Plaines and in the Beverly neighborhood, near the South suburbs of Chicago. Provide assessment, and case management services, conduct intakes, participate in the implementation of counseling, education or activity groups, and supervise program participants individually or in groups.

Part-time mentoring program coordinator (Bilingual Spanish/English Preferred)

Responsibilities: The coordinator is responsible to oversee the day to day operations of the program including recruiting and screening students, meeting with parents, and screening volunteers. The coordinator will plan weekly activities for the mentor matches, work with volunteer teams to provide meals for the mentoring evenings, maintain ongoing communication with mentors, parents and students and address any concerns if they arise. The coordinator will also maintain program files and reports and wok closely with the WYFS Executive Director, who will be responsible for recruiting mentors for the program as well as teams of volunteers to prepare the weekly meals. The Executive Director will coordinate mentor training and outcome measurement as well as the grant reporting for the program
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Youth Work or Psychology. Experience working with youth and families. Sensitivity to the needs of a low-income and diverse population. Previous experience working with volunteers required. Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Word/ Excel/ Internet/ Email). Bilingual English/ Spanish strongly preferred.
Salary: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week during the school year and 5-10 hours per week during the summer. Must be available Wednesday and Thursday evenings 5PM to 9PM; other hours to be scheduled as needed. Pay for this position falls between $16 and $18.50 per hour based on skills and experience.
