Welcome to the Benedictine Library. This web page is designed to introduce you to a variety of services and resources available to assist you in your teaching and research. Our goal is to work with you to ensure that we can meet your needs in the classroom and in your research. Our book and journal collections are focused to support the curricular offerings of the University. Through our consortial agreements, you have direct access to over 25,000,000 items throughout the state of Illinois. Our resource databases and combination print/online journal collections are accessible from on or off campus in order to assist in your work. This resource page will describe those and other collections available to you.

Beyond the physical collections, you will find the library personnel ready and eager to work with you to fill any special needs you might have. The Contacts section identifies the personnel and their areas of responsibility. You can work with a librarian to prepare special materials for a course or to schedule a library instruction or orientation session for yourself or a class. If you cannot identify the most appropriate person for your question, please feel free to contact me for assistance at jfritts@ben.edu or 630-829-6060.

Please make use of this handbook and the resources it presents, and please send us comments or suggestions for additional areas of interest to cover and ways we can improve our services.
