Master Sergeant Aloysius L. Hopkins
During World War II, Mr. Hopkins served in the U.S. Army. He survived D-Day's Omaha Beach battle to fight for the liberation of France. He also served as the French interpreter for the mayor of Rouen, France. As an Army engineer in the Transportation Corps, he helped to build piers and bridges throughout Normandy, France.
