Poe Book Chat: Midnight Dreary by John Evangelist Walsh

Our book:

Midnight Dreary: The Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe

Mystery surrounds the last six days of the life of poet and writer Edgar Allan Poe. Author John Evangelist Walsh has re-examined documents relating to Poe's death and produces evidence that Poe's own end may have been a horror only matched in his own stories.

Our Speaker:

Fr. Julian von Duerbeck, O.S.B. of St. Procopius Abbey is an adjunct professor at Benedictine University. While on sabbatical at Harvard Divinity School, he visited many of the sites associated with Poe's life in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York. His presentation included pictures of the people and places in Poe's life.
