Construction of the First College Building
 

March 12, 1900

"Today the decision was reached that the construction of St. Procopius College is to begin ... the building is to be a four story structure, in the shape of the letter L, 155 by 30 feet if measured continously. The front of the building is 125 feet long."

Ben Hall Cornerstone 1900
  In 1900, work began on the College and Abbey building. A well was drilled. In April ground was broken and in July a cornerstone was blessed.

As construction proceeded during 1901, the Abbey Chapter decided in May to move school operations to Lisle and classes began in September.

In 1904 a four-year high school program was offered.

In 1905 college-level classes began.
