Wayne Wesolowski, Ph.D. has been building transportation and industrial history models for more than thirty years. His work has been exhibited at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, the Springfield, IL Lincoln Home Site, the West Chicago City Museum, RailAmerican and the National Railroad Museum among many others. Among his favorites are his traveling exhibits of the Abraham Lincoln Funeral Train (sponsor: Chicago Tribune McCormick Foundation) and a variety of miniature machine tools he has created.
Along with his wife, Mary Cay, he has written nearly 150 articles and four books on model building. He stars in two video tapes on model making produced by Kalmback Publishing and shown nationally on PBS television. Good Morning America selected and showed part of one tape as an example of the new video education. Bob Hundman of Mainline Modeler magazine said of Wayne, "He's always leading those of us who like scratchbuilding down new roads. He's a very inventive modeler."
Always look for ways to educate through models Wayne has created teaching exhibits for museums and clients across the country. He has a research Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Arizona and has been a tenured Professor of Chemistry at Benedictine University since 1975.
