Short video modules illustrating application software basics

These tutorials are presented as Flash videos with VCR like controls just below the main window.

The goal of each tutorial is to familiarize the viewer with elements of the application essential for perfoming basic tasks supported by the application. For example, the Word tutorial will illustrate techniques needed to create and print a formatted document with footnotes. Students with no prior knowledge of MS Word should be able to create a term paper after mastering the concepts discussed in the MS Word tutorial.

Each application provides capabilities beyond the scope of these tutorials. Those interested in further study of MS Office applications will find training CDs on reserve in the Library. The Office of Information Technology offers workshops to faculty and staff on a regular basis. CMSC 100 covers MS Office; LiveText is used throughout the Education curriculum; Communication Arts students may use Lectora to develop their portfolios.
