Making Strides Employee Wellness Program
Program Description:
Making Strides Employee Wellness Program is a 12-week wellness program promoting healthier eating and fitness.
To assist in your success, education sessions include
orientation sessions, computer-based education modules, and e-mail wellness coaching. Physical testing (of
cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and body composition), questionnaires exploring health habits, and interviews about dietary intake
enable more individualized goal setting. These also provide baseline data against which we can measure your success.
Since self-monitoring fosters success, each participant will receive a pedometer.
In addition, on campus weigh-ins provide continuing contact and
feedback on your progress (in addition to "goodie bags" with healthy food product samples and/or coupons).
Sponsored by the Nutrition Department, Making Strides Employee Wellness Program is coordinated by Catherine Arnold (Nutrition Department,
Chairperson) and her team of graduate students in the College of Education and Health Services.
