Scholarships That Need Funding
The African American Alumni Scholarship
Student must be an incoming freshman of African American descent with a 3.0 GPA. Student must demonstrate an active participation in one of the following areas: Social organizations, religious organizations or civic organizations.
The Sharon A. Arndt Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Returning Adult Education Majors
Student must be at least 25 years of age when applying for the scholarship and must be able to demonstrate financial need. Student must be majoring in education and special education majors will receive preference.
The Thomas Dyba Education Division Scholarship in Leadership
Student bust be an incoming freshman with a passionate intent to becoming a teacher. This scholarship is renewable but in no event shall a student be granted this scholarship for more than 4 consecutive years.
The Raymond J. "Doc" Fanning Memorial Scholarship
This is a general scholarship that will be awarded by the Financial Aid Department to a student with financial need.
The Fr. John M. Palmer, C.S.V. Endowed Scholarship for Expenses in Applied Music
This scholarship will provide funds for lab fees to students who are enrolled in a course of music study. Student must demonstrate financial need and have a GPA 3.0.
The Edward J. Gulanick Scholarship Fund
This is a general scholarship that will be awarded by the Financial Aid Department to a student with financial need.
The Mr. & Mrs. James J. Jana Scholarship Fund
This is a general scholarship that will be awarded by the Financial Aid Department to a student with financial need.
The Rev. Alexis Machacek, O.S.B. Scholarship Fund
This is a designated-recognition scholarship for students entering the field of Divinity. Financial need many be considered.
The Robert J. McHugh Memorial Scholarship Fund
This is a general scholarship that will be awarded by the Financial Aid Department to a student with financial need.
The Thomas and Karen Murphy Scholarship
Student applying for this scholarship must demonstrate outstanding academic performance with GPA 3.2, and must show qualities of leadership and character by participating in at least two of the following areas: school activities, church or religious organizations and/or civic service organizations.
The Endowment for the Ph.D. Program in Organizational Development
The primary purpose of this endowment is to establish and maintain in perpetuity a fund to financially assist the Ph.D. Program in Organizational Development. Funds from this endowment will be directed to such activities as, but not limited to, programs, equipment, student scholarships, stipends for visiting professors/scholars/dignitaries and faculty travel and/or research.
The Joel Setzen Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Student must be full-time and be of sophomore standing at time of application (student must be a junior or senior at time funds are disbursed). Student must demonstrate financial need, have a declared major in Political Science or the Pre-Law Program, and GPA 3.0.
The Dr. Jon Colby Swanson Endowed MPH Scholarship
Student must be enrolled in the Master of Public Health Program with the potential for leadership in Public Health. Student must have completed a minimum of six (6) credit hours in the Master of Public Health Program, have financial need, and have maintained a GPA 3.0.
The Keeley L. & Madeline M. Tira and Paul J. and Mary W. Flynn Memorial Scholarship
Student applying for this scholarship must demonstrate financial need with a declared major in one of the natural or physical sciences or math. There will be a preference for students with a demonstrated history of public/community/university service and a firm commitment to a career of such service. Student may re-apply for this scholarship for one additional year as long as requirements are met.
The Dr. Bernard Toussaint Endowed Benedictine Scholarship
Student must have declared a major or minor in Philosophy and be a junior or senior when scholarship funds are disbursed. Students must have a GPA 3.0 and preference will be given to students who are practicing Catholics.
The Rev. Leo Van Cura, O.S.B. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to students majoring in English.
