The Accelerated Master of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior (AMMOB) Program at Benedictine University is recognized both locally and nationally as a leader in providing education toward managing of high performance organizations.
The management and organizational behavior program blends a practitioner orientation with a combined academic, theoretical and research focus to provide a relevant and balanced approach to managerial skill development.
The curriculum provides students with a solid foundation in management skills such as strategic planning, change management and human resources. Most of all, it fosters collaborative faculty/student relationships aimed at achieving a common goal: learning to create and sustain excellence in management.
The program is designed around the fact that many students are working professionals and therefore classes are scheduled on weekends to accommodate their needs. One hundred percent of the degree can be completed through weekend course work!

Students need to meet the following requirements to graduate from this program:
- Complete the admission application process
- Attend three Lecture Series weekends
- Attend/present at an Organizational Development Conference
- Complete prerequisites (Accounting, Statistics and Data Processing and Management) before or during the degree program.
- Complete all coursework and assignments for each course, as well as the projects for the four management internships
Lecture Series - General Information
- Students attend 3 Lecture Series courses.
- The Lecture Series is held on the Benedictine University Lisle campus.
- The lecture series is referred to on the course schedule as MGMT-591, Contemporary Trends.
- The Lecture Series is offered during the fall and spring quarters.
- Hotel accommodations are included in tuition costs.
- Students are responsible for their own transportation to the Lisle campus.
Lecture Series Weekend
- Saturday: One-day workshop with nationally known professional.
- Sunday: Advance Topics in Organization Development. This course is designed to introduce theory and practice of innovative work in organization development.
- 40 years since the start of the AMMOB Program, headed by Peter Sorensen, Ph.D.
- 30 years of Contemporary Trends in Change Management Lecture Series

Management Internship Requirements
Independent Study/Management Internship (4 credits)
Each quarter, four credit hours of the program are devoted to field experience. This allows the student to customize the program and research topics of special interest in collaboration with a faculty advisor.
Management Internships are also known as Quarterly Paper Projects.
These internships do not require your involvement in an outside organization. The expectation of this requirement is submission of a paper each quarter (four in total) around a project of your choice.
Some current students choose to contact outside organizations to complete their project, however, it is optional.

- Outline the idea, the goals and objectives of the project.
- Explain how you plan to approach the project.

Format: Quarterly Paper
- Recommended length of the paper is 10-20 pages per quarterly project.

- Give your advisor dates for updates on your progress.
- Recommend two checkpoints per paper.
