Executive Director - Cooperative Education Programs
Full-Time

Classification: Benefit Eligible

Duties: The Executive Director will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the University's Cooperation Education Program. The Executive Director will create, manage, implement and assess a comprehensive program tailored to meet the needs of students. This position reports directly to the Dean of Academic Affairs and serves on the Academic Cabinet. Other essential duties will include: providing strategic planning and vision necessary to advance excellence in teaching; advance student achievement and program innovation through an on-going assessment plan and program review; individual will promote an entrepreneurial spirit with development of new employer partnerships and programs; assure that Cooperative Education employers are supported and engaged in student learning planning and on-going review of employer relationships; recommend appointment and review of faculty liaisons with division chairs and program directors; oversees hiring, supervision, evaluation of academic support staff; prepare and administer program budget; work with the senior administration to implement the strategic plan through resource allocation and alignment; fosters cooperative relationships within the College, University, and other institutions; work with Grants Office, faculty and staff of the college and employment partners to develop external funding opportunities which support the development and growth of Cooperative Education.

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s Degree

Experience: Minimally, three years of experience leading an established, comprehensive Cooperative Education with a strong record of college administrative leadership and program development and implementation.

Specific Skills: Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the faculty; evidence of fostering productive relationships with the professional community; positive experience with ethnically and culturally diverse faculty and students; demonstrated success in grant writing and/or fundraising.

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, and Certifications: N/A

Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable): Support staff assigned to the Cooperative Education Program.

Duties: The Division of Natural and Computational Sciences at Benedictine University at Springfield, a private liberal arts institution in Springfield, IL, seeks candidates for Assistant Professor beginning fall 2013.  The ideal candidate will be interested in teaching undergraduate courses in the fields of chemistry, biology, or health/environmental sciences.  The successful candidate should display a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, demonstrate the ability to teach online classes, and enjoy working in a small but rapidly growing interdisciplinary department.
 
Qualifications: Ph.D. (or terminal degree in the field) in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or closely related field is required; teaching experience preferred.

Resident Manager
Full-Time

Classification: Benefit Eligible

Duties: Responsible for the management of residence halls at Benedictine University including placement of residents, planning and coordinating programs, supervising resident assistants, encouraging student engagement in campus life, encouraging academic success in the residence halls, making ‘duty’ schedules for resident assistants and coordinating the selection and training of resident assistants. The position works closely with admissions, financial aid, physical plant, student affairs, student accounts and campus safety among other University offices. Other responsibilities will include: working closely with admissions, financial aid, and other offices to assist in the recruitment of residents to campus living by serving as the main contact for residence life, providing presentations and tours as necessary, maintaining housing records to complete resident files and to assign rooms to residents based on preference, status, and other factors; retaining residential students by working with resident assistants to develop community within the residence halls and by providing leadership opportunities for residence; acting as the main facility manager for residence halls by cooperating with student affairs and campus safety on policy enforcement in the residence halls remaining on-call during scheduled times, serving in an emergency responder role when necessary, reporting maintenance repairs to appropriate staff as needed and conducting regular inspection of residence halls and residence rooms for cleanliness and safety; communicating regular updates of the status of residence life to the Dean of Student Affairs; and advising residential and other students as assistance is needed by the advising staff.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.

Experience: A background in residence life is preferred.

Specific Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency is required, as well as ability to utilize new technologies. Excellent oral, written, listening and presentation skills are critical. The ability to multi-task in a collaborative environment is required.

Working Conditions: Normal office conditions. Evening and weekend hours expected. Subject to interruptions.

Assistant Coach: Men's Basketball
Benedictine University at Springfield will be playing its inaugural season this winter in the American Midwest Conference (NAIA DI). This position will be involved in all operational aspects of a men's college basketball program including: game day operations, recruiting, team travel, team practice, equipment management, fundraising, game planning, community relations, video editing, academic monitoring, fundraising, and other tasks outlined by the head coach. Great opportunity to get entry level college coaching experience.
