The Sixth Annual Springfield Lecture Series is sponsored by Benedictine University at Springfield’s Ph.D. in Organization Development program, which brings top national academicians and consultants to Benedictine’s campuses to address major issues in organizational behavior and development.
The lecture series begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and finishes at 4:00 p.m. followed by a reception honoring the Central Illinois Organization Development Network’s fifth anniversary.
Jamieson has served in many leadership roles within professional associations including National President of American Society for Training and Development and Chair, Management Consulting Division of Academy of Management. He serves on the editorial boards of three professional journals and as editor of Practicing OD and associate editor of Journal of Management Inquiry.
Jamieson has published extensively with four books (Managing Workforce 2000; The Facilitators Fieldbook, 2nd Ed; and Consultation for Organization Change), 11 chapters (e.g., The Practice of OD; Strategic Human Resource Thinking; Aligning the Organization for a Team-Based Strategy) and numerous articles in journals and newsletters (e.g., Managing ‘Use of Self ’ for Masterful Professional Practice; Building Trust; New Consultant Roles and Processes in a 24/7 World). Today he continues to shape his fields, dividing his time between educating executives and practitioners of change, consulting in HR and organization change and writing to bridge knowledge and practice.
The lecture series draws from Handbook for Strategic HR: Best Practices in Organization Development from the OD Network that Jamieson co-edited. Jamieson will challenge practitioners to consider the changing role of human resources and see that it is no longer limited to hiring, managing compensation and ensuring compliance.
The lecture is open to the public, but seating is limited. Registration is required by July 25. For more information or to register, visit http://springfield.ben.edu or contact Jan Kirby at (217) 525-1420, ext. 3519, or email@example.com.
