Don’t forget to check out these great resources

We are glad the start of the fall semester was a success for both our new and returning students. After a summer of preparing for the start of the semester, we want to make sure all of our students are aware of the various academic resources that are available to them.

  • The Academic and Career Enrichment (ACE) Center has many resources for our students including tutoring services and learning specialists. The fall tutoring schedule and contact information for Math, Science and Writing Learning Specialists can be found by going to ben.edu/ace.
  • The Benedictine University Library is also a great source of support for our students. Located on the second floor of Kindlon Hall, students can speak with a librarian, utilize computers or simply stop by to study.

Our advising staff is always available to assist students with any questions or concerns. Please don’t hesitate to visit ben.edu/advising or contact us at (630) 829-1120 or advisingcenter@ben.edu.

A Note from Campus Ministry

Dear Parents,

We are off to a great start this year in Campus Ministry. During Ben Beginnings in August, more than 200 BenU students, staff and faculty served at 19 local nonprofits for our new “Be Impactful” event. During the first week of classes, we observed the Opening Liturgy at St. Procopius Abbey followed by a picnic lunch on the lawn. More than 700 BenU community members were present. It is important for us to continually grow in our faith and invite others to do the same.

Freshmen are invited to the free FLIGHT Retreat on Saturday, September 23. The retreat includes hiking at Starved Rock, playing games and hearing sophomores reflect on their freshman year of college and their relationship with God.

We are also preparing for our first STEP (Serving Together Engaging our Purpose) program of the year in which several BenU students will have the opportunity to spend two weeks of winter break in the Philippines building homes for the homeless.

There are ten hallmarks that define a Benedictine education. One of those hallmarks is Love of Christ and Neighbor. Because we are committed to ecumenical and interfaith work, we will be hosting our second annual Interfaith Week during the second week of October. It has been a wonderful time to learn from one another in community.

Looking forward to growing in faith together!

God bless,

Campus Ministry
