Eligibility for Extended Stay:
The 2017-18 Housing Agreement students sign as part of the housing application specifies the length of stay as the official dates of the academic year. The application for summer housing specifically covers the time periods associated with Summer Sessions I and/or II. The interim periods between official sessions are not covered by a housing agreement. Students may not remain in housing during interim periods without official approval of Residence Life.
Students may request an “extended stay” following the spring semester and/or following Summer Session II if they meet specific eligibility criteria and complete an application with Residence Life. The following requirements must be met for an extended stay before any application will be approved:
|Extended Stay Period||Requirements|
|May 12-June 4||
Extended Stay Housing:
Students applying for summer housing will be assigned to an apartment in Roman Hall. Those students applying for extended stay in May will be required to relocate from the academic year housing assignment to their designated summer location as soon as the space is cleared by Facilities Management for summer occupancy. Those students applying for extended stay in August will remain in their designated summer location until their fall room or apartment is available.
Students whose academic year housing assignment was located in Roman Hall will be reassigned to another apartment for extended stay periods so that Facilities Management can conduct required annual cleaning and repairs.
Extended Stay Fee:
Residents who occupy space in campus housing for any portion of the extended stay period will be charged a flat fee of $300 for each session.
Application Process: Students wishing to apply for an extended stay must do so by May 1, 2018, by completing the information on the reverse side of this document.
