Commuter Services

Commuter Services is dedicated to enhancing the experience and supporting the success of all commuter students. Through services and opportunities, we are committed to keeping you informed and involved!

Get Involved!

Commuter Students are invited to join the Commuter Student Association. The Benedictine University Commuter Student Association (CSA) is dedicated to enhancing the experience of the commuter student population through services, events, advocacy and outreach. The Commuter Student Association will strive to:

  • Build and foster community amongst commuter students through social and involvement opportunities.
  • Provide events and programs geared for commuter students. ∙Provide a platform for students to share their perspective to enhance the commuter student experience.
  • Advocate for the interest and needs of the commuter student population. ∙Aid commuter students in becoming active and engage participants in the Benedictine Community.

Parking

Parking is free on campus. Parking permits are free and required for parking in all lots, except the Krasa Student Center parking lot and parking garage. There are four categories of parking permits: Faculty/Staff, Resident, Commuter and Visitor. They must be displayed from the rear view mirror of your vehicle.

Meal Plan Options (per semester)

Commuter meal plans are a great option!

  • Benny's 50 Pack + BBuck$: 50 meals plus $75 BBuck $450
  • Benny's 30 Pack + BBuck$: 30 meals plus $75 BBuck $300
  • Benny's 20 Pack: 20 meals $150
Commuter Student Events

Commuter students are encouraged to attend the many social, educational and athletic events offered on campus. In addition, the Commuter Student Association sponsors a variety of events to engage commuter students including Commuter Appreciation Month every March.

 

Commuter Lockers

Lockers are conveniently located in Kindlon and Birck Halls and are available at no cost to commuter students on a first come first served basis. Locker and lock are provided. Lockers for the 2020-2021 academic year can be requested starting August 31st 2020.

Once you complete and submit this form you will be contacted with locker information via email within 72 hours.

Lounges/Places to Hang Out

BenUnion Underground

BenUnion Underground

The lower level of the Krasa Center features the BenUnion Underground, the University’s recreational facility. The BenUnion Underground offers students a place to hang out, watch TV and have fun. Students can play ping pong, billiards, foosball, air hockey and a variety of board, video and arcade games. Lounge space also includes access to a fridge and microwave! Students can also check out a bike from the BenUnion office as well as purchase tickets for dances and special events.

Goodwin Hall, 2nd Floor, Coffee Shop

Seating Grab a beverage or snack from #Coffee and hang out with friends in the lounge space on the Second floor of Goodwin Hall.
