What to bring to your new room!
Here are some tips on what you should bring to make your residence hall room feel like home. These items are not all necessities, but they are what many students find they will need throughout the year. Remember to talk to your roommate to find out what he/she is bringing!
• Alarm clock
• Bed linens (twin XL)/towels
• Carpet/throw rug
• Chair/bean bag (desk chairs are also provided for both students)
• Cleaning supplies (Swiffer, Lysol, small dustbuster)
• Clothes drying rack
• Compact refrigerator
• Computer
• Cups/mugs/glass/plates/bowls/silverware
• Desk lamp
• Desk drawer organizers
• Dish soap
• Envelopes/stamps
• Fan
• Hangers
• Iron/small ironing board
• Laundry bag/basket
• Laundry detergent
• Medicine
• Microwave
• Plants (real or fake)
• Radio/stereo
• Rubbermaid trunks (under-the-bed trunks or trunks to fit on top of wardrobe)
• School supplies
• Sewing kit
• Shower caddy
• Sticky-Tak to hang posters
• Surge protector
• Toiletry items/soap dish
• TV/VCR/DVD player
Please remember that the following items are NOT allowed: pets (other than fish), space heaters, cooking appliances with heating elements, toaster ovens, outside antennas or satellite dishes, incense, and candles.
