Men's Lacrosse

Interested in joining Benedictine University's Men's Lacrosse club?

Welcome to the Benedictine University Men’s Lacrosse Club Home Page. The Lacrosse team is open to Benedictine full and part-time students. The university provides support to the team with uniforms, travel, and even provides equipment like helmets and pads to players who need it, but most players have their own equipment.

Benedictine is an academically competitive school. Roughly 80% of all students receive financial aid of some sort. For more specific information on enrollment, contact the Enrollment Center directly at 630-829-6300, or admissions@ben.edu.

The conference in which Benedictine competes is called the Great Lakes Lacrosse Conference. The list of schools includes, Northern Illinois, Western Illinois, Northwestern Univ., Loyola, Wisconsin, and many others. Practices begin in early January and our season concludes by late April or early May. In 2009, Benedictine played 10 games plus the end of season tourney.

The cost for the 2009 season was only $50 per player. This fee includes uniform, equipment for those who need it, and travel expenses including the overnight end of season tournament. Players bring their own cash for food on long trips.

For those who are not participating in fall sports, the lacrosse team will participate in fall tournaments. Multi-sport athletes are welcomed and encouraged to play lacrosse at Benedictine.
