Our ultimate goal is to create positive community change that includes everyone, and we believe that, by creating dialogue groups in our community at Benedictine University, that we can help foster that kind of change.

Using programs and resources provided by everydaydemocracy.com, we have discovered proven and effective ways to engage the community through dialogue groups, and then, allowing them to take action on various issues. Study circles are the best place to start.

At the most basic level, our focus is on three core components: organizing, dialogue, and action.

We emphasize coalition-building, recruitment of diverse dialogue participants, message development, early planning for action and training of facilitators. It is crucial to reach out to every sector of the population to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard.
