Academic Support Center (ASC)

We are here to support you on your academic journey at Benedictine. ASC will enhance your learning by offering free tutoring, skills for academic success, and writing assistance. ASC also provides accommodations for eligible students. Our goal is to help students grow and succeed at BU and beyond. We offer a variety of services to both the Lisle and Mesa campuses.


Peer Tutoring

Our group of Peer tutors are ready to help students with a variety of subjects. Hours vary and are conducted on a drop-in basis. Click on the link for the schedule and more details. (updated 4/13/22)

Appointment Tutoring

Our learning specialist are available for one-on-one or small group tutoring. Click on the Booking link to make an appointment with the appropriate tutor.

Dr. Carol Fendrick – Science Learning Specialist. Book Appointment
          Assists students with a variety of topics withing science.
          Location: Kindlon Library, Rm 309

Ms. Marian Flattum – Math Learning Specialist. Book Appointment 
          Assists students with all levels of math through Calculus II, as well as statistics and biostatistics.
          Location: Kindlon Library, Rm 314

Ms. Susan Roach – Literacy Learning Specialist. Book Appointment
          Assists students in writing for college courses.
          Location: Kindlon Library, Rm 308

Ms. Taffie Duzan – Study Skills Learning Specialist.
          Assists students with study strategies applicable to all courses such as time management and test preparation. 
          Location: Kindlon Library, Rm 407


Skills for Academic Success 

Through out the semester, ASC will conduct skills for academic success on topics that will equip students to be successful at BU and beyond.
