Ron holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and his professional practice included youth services, mental health, child welfare, and special education. The majority of his career was in management and Ron concluded his career with thirty years in the position of nonprofit Executive Director/CEO at four different agencies; he was the founding Executive for one of those agencies.
Ron retired in February 2015 and is pursuing his long time hobby of photography. Specializing in special events, galas, sporting events and festivals primarily supporting the community and fundraising efforts of local charities. Ron is also a member of the CAPS (Citizens Appreciate Public Safety) Board of Directors, Naperville, Illinois. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of Benedictine University.
On the personal side Ron brings a great deal of energy, enthusiasm and humor to his life and his work. He also enjoys two things that most people dread; public speaking and jumping out of airplanes (in the past!). A healthy lifestyle and exercise are passions that he enjoys on a daily basis.
Ashton Tunk holds a Juris Doctor from The University of Illinois at Chicago’s John Marshall Law School, and both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Benedictine University.
Ashton is an Officer and Auditor on the Corporate Planning and Treasury Management team for an international financial services and investments company where he participates in the planning and execution of internal corporate audits. Prior to his career in internal audit, Ashton focused his efforts on the municipal law industry. Most recently, Ashton was a law clerk for a mid-sized municipal law firm where he assisted in the firm’s comprehensive corporate municipal law practice, advising on complex legal issues pertaining to the operation of local government.
Ashton serves as Secretary of the Benedictine University Board of Directors to facilitate volunteer and alumni engagement, and the planning of alumni-related University events. Additionally, Ashton serves as a member of the St. Pius X School Board to advise the School on the implementation and creation of student policies and to engage the local community and parish.
In his spare time, Ashton enjoys playing guitar and running competitively. Likewise, Ashton is active on social media, co-hosting a political podcast and co-managing a food blog. Ashton is a native of DuPage County and currently lives with his fiancée Taylor.
Diana Williams is an independent strategic consultant for both profit and non-profit enterprises. Williams started her career in the financial industry managing compliance and Return on Assets. She worked for a series of Superregional banks and later became a consultant for C level executives in banks and credit unions across the country. She took a particular interest in the non-profit and local political sectors. Throughout the years, she has sat on several executive boards, and was appointed a Liquor and Tobacco Commissioner for the City of Naperville, IL, prior to moving to Scottsdale, AZ.
In Arizona, she continues to provide training and coaching in the strategic and operational aspects of management, marketing and client relationship management. She also specializes in fundraising and event planning. Williams currently sits on the United Parent Council for Paradise Valley Unified School District as well as three other Boards. She holds her BA in Business and Economics (99’) and her MBA (2001) with emphasis in Finance and International Business both from Benedictine University.
Chris Adams is a senior executive with experience leading several large companies including Fortune 500 distributors, Multibillion-dollar international distribution firm, and large global manufacturing companies, where he has held senior executive positions in supply chain, marketing, and sales.
Recognized for breakthrough work in distribution, measurement systems, value chain mapping, data analytics, and innovative collaborative strategies, he has had his work cited by Harvard Business Press Balanced Scorecard Report and Harvard Business Review. Early in his career he was part of the innovative marketing team involved in the development of PURELL Instant Hand Sanitizer into new markets including retail.
He has been a guest speaker at national and international programs including McDonald’s Hamburger University, Palladium’s International Balanced Scorecard Symposium, and multiple international seminars on business forecasting. He has pioneered unique collaborative business planning and modeling processed for manufactures and distributors. Most recently, as EVP of an international manufacturer, he led the company to being recognized by the state of Ohio as one of the fastest growing manufacturers.
He currently serves on a number of boards including Marquette University ‘s Center of Supply Chain Management Advisory Board and Benedictine University’s Alumni Board. He has a passion for mentoring young people of which a number have received job offers from consulting companies, Fortune 100 firms, and Private Equity. He graduated from Benedictine University Summa Cum Laude in Management.
Victor Chavez received his Bachelors in Business Administration with a focus in Management and Organizational Behavior and a minor in Theology in 2017 at the conclusion of an undergrad career co-pioneering a campus identity as a member of the inaugural class of Benedictine University at Mesa in Mesa, Arizona. While at Ben U – Mesa, Victor, a Mesa native, was fortunate to serve as the second Student Body President in the history of the campus, the first Rotaract Club Vice President and Lead Peer Mentor, and President of the Catholic Student Alliance. In light of these and many other wonderful opportunities and events, the most prominent blessing from his time at Ben U – Mesa as a non-traditional, first generation student was meeting his college sweetheart, Miranda, another student leader from the inaugural class, at freshman orientation. From there the couple would go on to be united in Holy Matrimony in February of their final Spring semester followed by expecting their first child in March and commencement in May. After graduating in 2017, Victor spent a brief term in fundraising, then pursued entrepreneurial endeavors only to be led to his active role in management at his childhood parish in downtown Mesa.
Currently Victor serves as the Mesa Committee Chair for the Benedictine University Alumni Board of Directors. He and Miranda celebrate nearly 4 years of marriage and a growing family in their first home with their three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter. Victor is especially grateful for the Benedictine heritage that profoundly shapes him and his family. Likewise, much gratitude is felt for Benedictine University President, Charles Gregory, and Kevin Broeckling, Chief Executive Officer of Mesa Operations, for their influence, support and closeness while a student in Mesa and present day.

Samyuktha Gumidyala received her Masters of Public Health with a certificate in Health Management and Policy from Benedictine University in 2013. While at BenU, she served as President of the MPH Student Advisory Panel. Following graduation, she co-founded the MPH Alumni Organization called BMAC (Benedictine University MPH Alumni Connections). Her first job out of graduate school was a coordinator in a social services organization providing services for people with disabilities. She then moved to city of Chicago and landed a job at the American Osteopathic Association where she worked for four years as a Program Manager. There she oversaw the management and operations of several affiliate organizations. Samyuktha's current position is the State Associations Relations Manager at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists in Park Ridge. She is happy to be serving another term as a Director on the BenU Alumni Board. Her hobbies include traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Shantell graduated class of 2016. She was a science major that went on to become a nurse. Her favorite pastimes on campus include Student Senate, SEEDs (the environmental club), Model United Nations (both the New York and China experience), week long service trips out of state with peers, as well as, the Leadership Developmental Team. She attributes the Benedictine teachings as a part of her success and looks forward to giving back to others. Fun fact: her younger sisters also graduated from BU!
Nirav A. Shah MBA, MPH, RPCV – Nirav Shah received a Master of Public Health (M.P.H) from Benedictine University in 2010. His interest in experiencing global health and his desire to give back led him to volunteer for the Peace Corps in 2013. Shah spent two (2) years in Zambia as a Community Health Extension Agent where he strategized effective methodologies to mitigate the burden of Malaria, HIV/AIDS, and malnutrition in rural communities.
Shah, joined the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) team are a Public Affairs Specialist in October 2016. He has served as a spokesperson for the agency during more than 100 interviews, including radio and television outlets. He has educated consumers about the dangers of foodborne illnesses and how to make safer choices at home. Mr. Shah has initiated partnership with 12 national and regional organizations, and developed relationships with reporters from national media outlets, including NY Time, Today Show, iHeartRadio and TV Asia.
Nirav serves as a member of the Benedictine University Alumni Board of Directors to facilitate volunteer and alumni engagement. Additionally, in 2018 Shah was awarded the Rising Star award from Benedictine University Office of Alumni Relations for making considerable strides in his career in relatively short period of time and have shown dedication towards philanthropic endeavors. He works passionately towards promote and strengthen relationships with the entire Benedictine University community through communication, activities and service.
