One of the most challenging tasks in business analytics is to how to best represent the data for machine learning algorithms. This talk discusses some best practices of feature engineering followed by a demonstration of how such techniques can be used to analyze and prepare the Titanic data set for survival prediction. It uses a high level visual interface offered by Data Refinery in IBM Watson Studio so that no programming is needed. Please visit the meetup web site for details on the dataset and obtaining an account.
