Every academic year, the Center for Civic Leadership (CCL) invites some of Benedictine's most talented students to serve as Public Service Fellows. In addition to having exceptional academic credentials at the University, students selected to participate in this program also demonstrate an interest in civics, public service and a desire to work in the public sector. The CCL Fellows work closely with the director and political science faculty and staff to design each year's calendar of events, including Youth Government Day simulations and activities, and also serve as University diplomats when distinguished speakers visit the Lisle campus and during other events. They are often placed in internships with campaigns, government offices, law practices and service organizations. For their dedicated work, the Fellows receive an annual scholarship, funded in part through private donations to the Center.
