Arabic courses provide language instruction at the introductory and intermediate levels as well as discussion of elements of Arab culture.
Courses in Chinese are designed to allow students to gain proficiency in the language and to become more familiar with the culture and history of China.
Courses in English Language & Literature offer study of literary works from a variety of periods, genres, and literary traditions, with an emphasis on strategies for interpretation and analysis.
The Department's graduate courses in Linguistics provide insight into the nature of language and how it is used to communicate for different purposes in a variety of contexts.
Courses in Spanish offer introductory, intermediate, and advanced language instruction, with additional coursework available that focuses on Spanish and Latin American literature and culture.
