Master of Science in Integrative Physiology

Benedictine University’s Master of Science in Integrative Physiology program is a one year graduate degree program with a full-time curriculum designed for graduates of bachelor’s program in Biology and other related sciences. The program serves students who want to deepen their understanding of physiology and explore various areas of biology by providing a one-year, rigorous course of study culminating in a Master’s degree. It is aimed to provide valuable and marketable experience to students who are taking a “gap” year after graduation. The program also serves students interested in applying to doctoral programs in biomedical research. Students with diverse interests are encourages to apply and will be provided with the right tools and a meaningful path to succeed in their future endeavors.

Minimum requirements for acceptance:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry and physics and a semester of calculus or statistics, human physiology and cell biology.
  2. Cumulative grade point average GPA of 2.8 on a scale of 4.0 in all completed classes.

  4. A personal statement expressing the student’s desire for the healthcare profession and the benefits of this course of study to their long term goals.
  5. Two letters of recommendation (faculty, employer, etc.) OR ONE Health Science Recommendations Committee (HSRC) letter are acceptable.EMAIL LETTERS to:
  6. Rolling Application submission. Interviews conducted within two weeks of receipt of completed application. Qualified students will be conditionally accepted within one week of departmental interview. 

Deadline for Spring application: Nov 1, 2020.

Program begins January, 2021.
