The Chicago College of Pharmacy (CCP) at Midwestern University has a Dual Acceptance Program with BenU undergraduate students. In the Clinical Laboratory Science program at Benedictine University, you will follow a three-year sequence of liberal arts and science courses. During your senior year, you will be eligible to complete a one calendar-year clinical program at a hospital affiliated with the University — Hines Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in Hines, Ill. — where you will fulfill your clinical requirements in Clinical Laboratory Science. Successful completion earns you a B.A. in Biology- Allied Health from Benedictine University, and you will be eligible to take the certifying examinations administered by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel. In the nuclear medicine technology, diagnostic medical sonography, or radiation therapy programs, you will complete your first three years of course work at Benedictine University. During your junior year, you must apply to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for your clinical education. The admissions process is competitive. During your senior year, you will complete a clinical education curriculum. Successful completion of one of these programs earns you a BA in Biology- Allied Health from Benedictine University, and
Northwestern Memorial Hospital strongly recommends that a student be trained as a CNA and have "hands-on" experience before applying.
