Have family and friends who want to see you graduate? Here are some answers to some common questions to help your guests make necessary preparations.
Guests can attend the Commencement Convocation ceremony and the Interfaith Baccalaureate Convocation.
There is open seating for all Commencement Convocations and it is a first come first serve basis.
Due to the intimate nature of the Interfaith Baccalaureate Convocation (Hooding Ceremony) we ask that students limit their guests to a total of six (6).
Tickets are not needed for the Commencement Convocation ceremony.
The doors will open 90 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Guests arriving after the ceremony begins may be required to view the ceremony on a closed-circuit TV in the Goodwin Hall Auditorium.
The ceremony for associate and bachelor’s degree recipients is held outdoors in the Benedictine University Sports-Complex. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be relocated to the Rice Center.
The ceremony for master’s and doctoral students is held indoors in the Rice Center.
All post-ceremony receptions will take place outdoors in the Campus Quad, weather permitting.
No. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Otherwise, you may address your seating needs at Commencement with an usher at the door. Please keep in mind that seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. An interpreter will be available for the hearing impaired at the event.

Yes. A reception will be held on the Campus Quad after the Commencement Convocation ceremony concludes.
Yes. Both photography and videography is encouraged. However, we request that you do not go beyond the white cord when coming forward to take pictures. A professional photographer will photograph each of the graduates receiving his or her degree and a professional video of the ceremony will also be recorded and made available for sale.
