Winter Term/Spring Semester 2022 Update

We are looking forward to the start of the Winter Term and Spring Semester as we expand upon our academic and co-curricular experiences while maintaining a focus on the health and well-being of our community.

As we continue to learn and adapt during the pandemic, we remain committed to providing a safe learning environment.

To this end, we will begin our Winter Term and Spring Semester with courses offered in an online format for both the Lisle and Mesa campuses.  Our planning continues for a safe return to campus for in-person instruction, beginning Monday, February 7, 2022. We made this decision based on the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, to keep our communities safe, and to help ease the strain on our healthcare system.  As we begin the term virtually, we look to provide greater points of engagement and connection across the University.

By now, you all should have scheduled your classes. If you still need to register, there is still time. Please contact your advisor immediately and complete the registration process. You should continue to review your class schedule through MyBenU to ensure your schedule is complete.

As you prepare to begin the term, you can expect that your course D2L sites will be open and activated by 6 PM on the Sunday prior to the start of your classes. If you are enrolled in a Winter Term class, this is January 9. For Spring Semester courses, this will be January 16. A syllabus should be posted by this time so you are aware of the materials and expectations for your courses.

Please refer to our website for updates on our COVID-19 protocols.

As was the priority from the beginning of the pandemic, the overall health, safety, and well-being of our campus remains our guiding light.

We will remain in touch with you throughout the coming weeks with plans and details to safely engage as a community and to communicate our return to in-person instruction. We hope you had a wonderful New Year’s holiday and we wish you a successful and transformative start to the winter/spring term.
