Mission Fund

Giving support through direct mail, phonathon, online, faculty/staff giving and other programs are vital for Benedictine University's most immediate needs.  While your contribution can be directed to a specific academic department, scholarship, athletic department or building campaign, we also appreciate gifts to either our General Scholarship Fund or the Benedictine Fund.

No matter the designation, the dollars raised are significant and add up to make a big impact here. Thank you for your support!

Why Give?

Enhanced Student Experiences

Student programs that enhance the educational experience are critical to recruiting and retaining students. From travel abroad programs, to community service opportunities, and clubs or social groups, today's students look for a well rounded educational experience that includes activities outside of the classroom. Your support can help to provide these enhanced student life experiences.

Expanded Facilities

Benedictine University has made significant investments in our facilities over the last few years, but we still need to do more. Advances in technology and lab facilities require updating of existing buildings and new facilities when too costly to modify existing structures. Resident facilities need modernization if we are to continue to attract new students. Donors support of the facilities on campus will help to keep the university competitive and the choice of students looking for a modern educational experience. For information on naming opportunities within our facilities, please contact Senior Development Officer, Eric Solberg at esolberg@ben.edu or (630) 829-6497.

Your commitment to Benedictine scholarships will have a lasting impact on today's students and help to ensure that they have the opportunity to pursue their education without undue financial struggle or incurring excessive debt.

  • Average financial aid package for first year students: $23,115
  • 100% of our undergraduate students receive some type of financial aid
  • 22% of students are first generation college students
  • 20% of students' families meet Federal criteria for poverty

Benedictine University Mission Fund

Mission Fund will assist students who are on their way toward earning a degree but encounter a hardship during their time here. A family emergency or unexpected expense can derail a student and limit their educational opportunity. The Mission Fund will provide a safety net for students and ensure that they can continue with their education. Click here to listen to our students tell their stories.

Ways To Give

Annual Giving

Benedictine University's Annual Giving supports the most immediate needs of the University.  It bridges the gap between the total cost of running the University and revenue earned from tuition.  Unrestricted giving to the Benedictine Fund supports current operations.  By designating your gift to the Benedictine Fund, you are providing the most flexible resources that can immediately be put to use. You can decide where you want your gift to go! Whether you donate online, by mail or through the phonathon, you can choose where you would like your gift to be designated.  For example, your gift could go to the Benedictine Fund (unrestricted), General Scholarships, a specific scholarship, a college or department or a building improvement fund.

Class Gift

The Class Year Giving Program encourages members of graduating classes to give something back to Benedictine University. Each year, the graduating class presents a legacy gift to the University as a way to honor the memory of their time here.
