What is SkyDrive?

By default, any file you upload to SkyDrive is private but you do have the option of sharing documents with other people. Please read the help section of SkyDrive for more information on how to do that.

How do I access SkyDrive?

You can access SkyDrive once you have logged into Office 365 at

Remember, you do have to log in first!

How much storage space do I have on SkyDrive?

You have a total of 25 GB of storage space.

What is happening to my home ("H") drive?

As of Friday, August 23, access to your "H" drive will be cut off and your account to SkyDrive will be live.

How can I get my files off of the "H" drive?

If you are on campus:

  • The preferred method is to copy any files from your H drive onto a thumbdrive. You can then re-upload them to your SkyDrive account.
  • All student-accessible computers on campus have DVD burners. You can insert a blank CD or DVD into the drive and then drag files from the "H" drive onto the blank disc. When you go to eject the disc from the computer, Windows will finish the process for you.
  • You can set up a free account on a service such as DropBox with a free 2GB storage limit and send files to that service.
  • Finally, you can mail the files as attachments to a personal email address. However, the total attachment size on each individual email is 10 MB. If you have a file larger than 10 MB, you won't be able to attach it to an email.

If you are off campus:

  • Connect to the campus' network through BenU Connect. Then you can access the "H" drive and copy files from there to your personal computer. Depending upon the quality of your connection, download speed, and the number of files, the amount of time to download everything will vary.
