Charitable Gifts

Giving a charitable gift to the Fr. Michael Komechak O.S.B. Art Gallery is an important decision which will help us to continue Fr. Michael Komechak’s dream. To bring the arts to Benedictine University, and its surrounding community, is an important step toward making this gallery a recognized leader in the region. Planned Gifts and Personal Gifts (Cash or Property)

Planned gifts, often called deferred gifts, can maximize tax benefits, financial planning, and can enhance a comprehensive retirement plan. They can help provide future funds for the continuation of the Komechak Art Gallery’s operational needs. Additionally, there are several methods for giving, including outright gifts or pledges. Please contact your financial advisor to discuss possible tax benefit options.

Sponsorship and Exhibition Support

There are several other ways to contribute to the gallery’s operational needs, including sponsorships, conservation projects, exhibition support, and in-kind donations.

Corporate Donors

Corporate donors to the Fr. Michael Komechak O.S.B. Art Gallery are comprised of majors gifts to the gallery’s curatorial and public programming missions. Contributions of $1,000 or more per year in unrestricted funds help support the gallery and build its relationships with the community.

Being a volunteer with the Fr. Michael O.S.B. Komechak Art Gallery is a great opportunity to learn about art and to be part of Fr. Michael’s dream. The Komechak Art Gallery will need public volunteers to help greet visitors, give directions through the exhibitions and the Benedictine University campus, sell memberships, assist shoppers, and/or assist with a exhibition opening reception or fundraiser.

Volunteers who want to work behind the scenes would assist with administrative, educational programs, guest lectures, or fund development projects. Everyone’s time and talents are integral to the success of the Komechak Art Gallery. The following types of Volunteer opportunities are available:

  • Visitor Services: Greeting the public and provide visitors information about the gallery, its exhibitions and programs, as well as processing retail transactions.
  • Administrative Provide clerical support for the gallery staff as needed, as well as occasional research projects, mailings, and other functions related to exhibition openings, etc.
  • Docent: Conduct tours to gallery visitors, school groups, etc. regarding the exhibitions and works on campus. Training typically lasts 1 hour, with 2 hour shift increments.
  • Special Programs and Events: Volunteers can help with special programs and lectures, assist gallery staff with various events, including the annual Benefit. Shift times will vary, according to event dates and preparatory work for the events.
  • Fundraising: Help our fundraising team with fundraising events, and special development efforts.
